Tom Johnson
Vice President, GHG Management Solutions
Tom has held in roles of progressively increasing seniority related to climate change and sustainability in both the private and not-for-profit sectors since 2002. As Vice President of GHG Management Solutions, Tom is head of the ClimateCHECK practice in Toronto, Ontario and responsible for the company’s operations in this important Canadian market. Prior to joining ClimateCHECK, Tom was the Development Manager for a $550 million (CAD) fund that supported sustainable municipal infrastructure across Canada, where he developed a reporting system consistent with the ISO14065-2 GHG standard for project-level accounting and managed its application to over 125 sustainable municipal infrastructure projects with a total value of almost $2 billion.
In addition to his corporate roles, Tom served as a member of the Canadian technical committee responsible for the development of the International Organization for Standardization ISO14064/14065 suite of GHG standards, and participated for four years on a federal inter-departmental working group on the development of GHG tools and protocols. Tom is also a member of the faculty of, and has developed courses for, the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute, a non-profit organization focused on training and education for the professionalization of the field of GHG management and accounting.
