Pablo Päster
Vice President, GHG Management Innovations
Pablo Päster gained valuable experience in greenhouse gas management and sustainability projects while working as a sustainability engineer at URS, one of the largest engineering and construction firms in the world. Here he also founded the URS Oakland Sustainable Solutions Group. Additionally, he served as a sustainability engineer with Natural Capitalism Solutions (Founded by Natural Capitalism co-author, L. Hunter Lovins), where he was responsible for a supply chain sustainability analysis for a major client in the food sector. He consulted with a number of companies, including Clif Bar, La Tortilla Factory, Semifreddis, Bakers of Paris, Chevron, Dominion Energy, Alberto Culver, Anderson Valley Brewing Company, and he developed the greenhouse gas calculators used by LiveNeutral. Päster’s experience also stems from tenure at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Energy, and the Environment, in Wuppertal, Germany.
For the past two years Pablo has authored AskPablo, a weekly sustainability column, which is now featured on Salon.com. He answers readers’ questions about a wide range of topics, from recycling to hybrids. Pablo also received his MBA in Sustainable Management from the Presidio School of Management in San Francisco and has a B.S. Manufacturing Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California.
